Winding Down
26 Jan. Finished a good days work today, but now I am nearly out of cash, and there are no banks or ATM's, and nobody takes plastic. I will be forced to leave soon. I went to the embassy today and spoke with the medical staff, now I am hoping the State Dpt. will give me authorization to fly direct, or I think I will have to fly into Dom.R. again like I did last time and drive the rest of the way. My patients will not be abandoned, I have the Singapore group, and I left GPS coordinates with other groups at the Health Care cluster should I depart prematurely. I can no longer feed myself or pay for gas and supplies. And, there's no way to get it to me either, thanks for the offers. I have found no other solution except leaving the country temporarily and returning. I will be buying lots of tents, crutches, splints, DEET and Bleach before I return....g
